About Me

MonicaI was born and brought up in the sunny surrounds of Sydney, to a Czech father who loved eating and a Queensland mother who was never short of a delicious recipe.

She was also surprisingly modern for her time, doing yoga to Swami Sarasvati’s daily morning television programme and seeing a naturopath/ iridologist way back in the 1950s and 60s.

Perhaps she was the one who planted the seed for my interest in food and natural medicine.

I obtained my diploma at The College of Naturopathic Medicine [CNM], London. The three year course required specialist training in anatomy, physiology, nutritional biochemistry, pathology, environmental medicine, naturopathic principles, some herbal training as well as laboratory diagnostic procedures.

Currently I am a member of the British Association of Nutritional Therapists [BANT] and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council [CNHC which is supported by the Department of Health], as well as the Nutritional Therapy Council [NTCC].

I am also a registered ‘Foresight’ Practitioner for Infertility and Pre-conceptual care.

In order to continue learning and keep abreast of new research I regularly attend conferences such as CAM, as well as practitioner-only lectures organised by Naturopathic Medicine colleges and companies such as Metagenics/Nutri, BioCare and Mediherb.

I have a degree in translation (German, French) from Heidelberg University, Germany. I enjoy ‘making and creating’ and writing short stories when I get the chance. I am married, have two towering sons and am surrounded by the lush greenery of East Dorset.
